How good is an EMachines ET1161-05 and its monitor?
In my years of dealing with computers. I have only dealt with the big boys HP, Compaq, Dell, and "homemade" computers.
This computer will be a gift for someone. It will be connected to DSL. Is it a very good computer for using the Internet, and playing some games on?
I own two of the HP w1907 monitors and could not be any happier. (Of course, as crazy as it might sound I have one computer connected to a LG 37 TV.) Can anyone compare the two monitors?
Do you know of another computer better than this one selling for $299.99 or no higher $350.00?

eMachines are the bargain Gateway products. For an everyday user (e-mail, internet surfing, light gaming, etc.), they are just fine. A heavy, power-user won't ever tell you that, but that's not what the computer is designed for. It's just an everyday, knock-around computer. If you want to play some heavy, graphic-intensive games, this might not be a good choice.

Emachines are one of the worst computers sold today. I wouldn't ever consider buying one.

Read on, it seems to be a decent machine, but be warned, just like any other machine, Compaq and Dell included, you will have to wait a long time to use it if you send it in under warranty.
