What would your conclusions be about a cocaine dealer selling product out of his own home who live...get this?

directly , and I mean DIRECTLY across the street from the city police chief?

Update:

I guess I forgot to mention it is a very small town, the sheriff and the chief are best of friends and the dealer i from a fine respectable old generation family in that county. The chief HAS to know what is going on, and I have heard rumors that he DOES receive payoffs. But who can yo tell if the Sheriff and other police officers are involve. I know a handful of police officers and deputies that I trust but even they stand to loose by reporting it. Where else is left to go?

He is either protected, politically connected, a complete moron, has balls the size of a small state or some combination of the above four. If you wan't something done, contact the State Attorney General or the FBI.

BTW, if what you say is true, report anonymously, tread lightly and keep a low profile. When corruption goes that deep, intimidation, revenge and retaliation are the norm.

I absolutely agree with Teri. It would seem that there is some connection between the two. I would think that a police chief would have a little more discretion than this. I suppose he could just deny it.

I would file a complaint with the police department in your area ( if you have solid proof of whats going on) if no action is taken I would contact the internal review department of your local police. If nothing is still done contact Federal authorities.

It just goes to show you that people are so wrapped up in their own lives, they don't realize what's going on around them. Then again, maybe this dealer is being watched and they are waiting for him to make a big deal so they can hit him with big time felony charges.

The chief of police is buying it. Or is being paid off, for sure.

I'd say you'd have to find a replacement for Chief Wiggum.

You don't have enough information listed in your question to draw conclusions from.

If you want something done, call the police and give them all the information you have about it.

I'd say the police would probably work out what he was doing and he'd get arrested.

He's a total Numpty, the only conclusion i can come to is that he thinks he's playing it smart, but it doesn't work that way i'm afraid.
