She may have arthritis, or have pulled a muscle. If you try to massage that area, does she seem uncomfortable? That could indicate an injury. This isn't something that can be diagnosed over the computer easily.

He may have a bad hip. If hes getting old its deffinitly a possibility. Or maybe if hes young he just might of hit something. Or his stomach may have turned. But keep an eye out incase of any strange signs. But deffinitly think about the bad hip... It is very common for old dogs.
I hope i helped and i hope your doggy gets well. Trust me i know how hard it is to see ur dog get hurt. I love dogs. They mean everything to me and it sounds like ur dog does to you too!

before you resort to the vet, try buying some pet tabs from the store (pet vitamins)
My puppy had problems with his front arm, it was like he didnt want to put any pressure on it and it would tremble when he was sitting. I got him on the pet tabs and his arm did great...when we ran out of the tabs, his arm started up again.
Try that first and keep his activity down a bit until you see what happens......then try the vet if it doesnt look any better
