I just bought a kindle, can I start buying books before it gets here?

So yeah, I just bought a Kindle and Im pretty excited about it. I actually have a list of books already picked out and I wanted to go ahead and buy them while I wait on it to arive. I noticed my amazon acount already shows that I have a kindle attached to it and I was just curious if that means I can go ahead and start buying books or if I should wait till I had it in hand incase I had to do something with the actual unit to link the 2 together.

I obviously don't want to buy a few books then find out I can't use them for whatever reason.

I'm a Kindle 2 owner. Yes, you can start buying books already. All purchases will be stored on Amazon, and when you login with your Kindle after it arrived, you'll see the purchase in your account and will be able to download it.

See the question "I have a Kindle (1st Generation)--will all my books and subscriptions be available on Kindle?" in the link below. It mention how to schedule delivery of Kindle books even before your Kindle arrives:

I'd wait until it arrived so you can attach your Kindle to your buyer code before you use the Whispernet, which, even though I don't want a Kindle for other reasons, is extremely cool.

    Enjoy!
