There is one thing that most if not all of these free agents have in common. They are past their prime in terms of production and age. I'm not saying that none of them can produce, but lets face the facts many teams want someone who can produce, who is young yet effective, and most of these players you have named are in their lower to mid 30's.

But I do agree that many of these free agents should be picked up by someone. I mean for example, isn't it a shame that Marvin Harrison is still out of a job? I would have thought he would be on a team by now. He's had a stellar career and set records. Why has no one taken a chance on him? Another player from your list, Deuce McAlister. He should have been signed by the Seahawks or another team who is in need of a RB.

I think many of those players have hit their peak and are now in their final years. For example, Trent Green is likely done with his career. Of course we know he suffered from concussions which led to him not getting back on track. Another player, Plaxico Burress, I don't think he will be picked up so soon. His legal troubles are in the way of a deal being done. My whole point is yes some players I am surprised about but yet I am not surprised about others.

I would love to see the Pats pick up either Lawyer Milloy or Ty Law for not only added depth, but they would each provide great veteran leadership and knowledge of the game for the younger players in those positions. Not to mention, they each know the system like the back of their hand so they could easily jump right back in it and be productive on 3rd and long passing downs.

NFL is not a popularity contest. It is about production. Many of these players are past their prime. Although good players, some did not excel in the NFL or were just average. Many of these players will be picked up once training cap begins. There will be injuries which will need replacing. Also, teams will get a better look at what they currenly have and will not be satisfied so some moves will be made.

is this serious...??? theres not one decent pick up on this list i could see maybe mid season for a contender who gets hit with some injuries and needs a quick fix...but not for a big contract or extended time

and shaun alexander is NOT GOOD....this isnt 2004 anymore!!!!!

  • the players that u listed that are not injury prone or had trouble with the law are either too old or want too much money for their skill level or it could also be both.
