you may have torn your ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) or you may have some minor meniscal damage. Was it a high jump? Put some ice on it and see if the pain goes away. If it persists, go see an Orthopedic Doctor. He/she may have to do a diagnostic procedure called Knee Arthroscopy to see if there is a tear.

Likely pinched a cartilage. Stop sports & exercises for now. Try Aleve as label states for 10 days; if no better, see a Sports Orthopedic MD. NO cortisone!

Go to a doctor but remember never ever try to make it normal by force. And any suggestion may not even work as noone knows the problem exactly.
