My Mom Thinks I'm Anemic?

My mom thinks I'm anemic because I'm "always" cold & I like to eat ice. Is she overreacting or can this be true?

Some people just have a tendancy to be cold and like eating ice cubes but yes, it could be a sign, if you have heavy periods it probably is a bit of anemia but dont worry loads of people are anemic, just makes you feel a bit pooey unless it gets worse, read up on foods high in iron, this should prevent further anemia and if you still feel funny or your mum thinks you are anemic pop along to the doctors and they can give you some tablets :) good luck x

I don't believe that's true, maybe she should look up the definition of anemic again. I like to eat ice too, which causes me to be cold. The only reason I can't eat ice anymore is because of my braces. She's overreacting in my opinion, and I really don't think she understood the meaning of it when she heard it.

Just get a blood test. It's a 5 minute appointment at ther doctor, not a big deal.

u may not be. there are a lot more symptoms than that. anemia is caused by blood loss and the destrustion of RBCs (red blood cells). nd its common in females because of menstruation. anyways...........check this out.....http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/understanding-a...
