How often do I have to trim/clip a parrot's feathers?
I am thinking about getting a parrot and I need to convince my parents to let me get one. I don't want the parrot to be able to fly around the house so I want to get it's feather's clipped. I know HOW to do it but I want to know HOW OFTEN I need to do it. Thanks in advance.

The feathers don't grow after you've cut them, but parrots usually molt once or twice a year and the new feathers would need to be trimmed at least that often, or more often if it's a type of parrot that can fly with only a few wing feathers (e.g., cockatiels and budgies). You just look at their wings every so often and see if they need trimming (you should have your bird used to being handled so this is trivial).

Just a head's up, and I'm NOT trying to make a judgment here- if you've never done it before, then you technically don't know how to clip a parrot's flight feathers. Just to cover our bases, I have to recommend that you look up as much as you can about that. You don't want to cut the feathers too short to completely impair flight- that's dangerous for the bird.
Because say for example your parrot is playing on top of his cage, and he falls. If his flight feathers are cut too short, he won't be able to catch himself and glide to the ground properly. You should never cut the feathers more than 3/4 of safe distance from the blood.
Just something to keep in mind. ^_^ You may already know that, but I feel I'd be amiss if I didn't mention it!
My own parrots are free flighted. However, when I have had to clip other parrots, depending on the species, it can go anywhere from every two months to much longer. It's just something you have to keep an eye on.
Remember to do your research on parrot care before bringing one home!
Best of luck!

All birds feathers grows back in different times frames..I would say 2 months..But, sometimes they can fly with just a few that might come in earlier..Just keep an eye out ..watch them..Most of mine do not even try to fly even though there wings are all grown back..they just stay put..they do not even try to fly..but I do not take them outside unless I check first always
