How about darkening the room somewhat, then playing some music connected to a bank of frequency selecting filters, then to power amplifiers and lights. The filters make the light color change with frequency and the brightness of the lights will depend upon how loud is the music. Choose the music such that volume changes. If you use red green and blue colors, you can reproduce all visible colors, depending upon the music.

This will show the frequency and amplitude dependence of sound and also show the color spectrum and generation of colors. These are principles of physics.

    Good luck!
