Tmobile sidekick lx??

I have the Sidekick LX (the older one not the new one that just dropped) but upgraded to a new phone a few months ago I liked the phone but after a while I just needed a change. I'll list the pros and cons at the bottom.

The Plan's: I choose the $39.99 My Faves 300 plan, which gave 300 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends with unlimited calls to my, my Faves. For an additional 7.00 I think you can get Mobile 2 Mobile also. I then had the 19.99 sidekick unlimited plan, which offers unlimited email, IM and Web. So in total I would receive a bill for 78.69 cents a month.

The service was good I didn't have many dropped calls and service remained unless I was in the train station or in a basement.

Pros's:

- Aim, Yim, W.Live- flawless almost never bumped me off.

- Web was good for what it was.

- Customizable Hinges.(The sounds that come when you flip open the swivel screen.

- Four blue bumper lights that flash whenever you receive an incoming call, message, aim etc.

- Email was easy but simple, no flashing lights and bells.

- Music Player

- You can download if you want for free calculator, I think my space is now free.

Con's:

- Restricted to ring tones avail from the download calendar.

- Camera is horrible, especially when trying to use the flash.

- Battery is OK but def not great, going long distances keep a charger handy.

- Video Camera, 20 seconds only, what is that going to capture?

- Sometimes the hinges make the phone freeze up

- Everything is saved to service, so if your phone goes off you lose all contacts, notes, calender etc.

- There have been cases of my phone just simple freezing on me or the screen delaying when flipping open the swivel screen.

If I think of any more Pro's and Con's I will edit. I had the Brown one and my hubby had the Blue one (his SD card slot broke on him). I think the sidekick is a good phone if you are a heavy texter and IM user. But for a heavy web surfer, camera/vid camera user I'd consider a different phone. I have had almost all the SK the very first one, SK II, SK III, SK ID, SK LX and I have used the slide once or twice. Not a horrible phone but def. has there downfalls like most phones.

Okay, Well I really like the SideKick LX. And I like the new sidekick too! But I'd go for the new sidekick called the sidekick2008 because it's cheeper then the sidekick LX. And has about the same things! Dont get the sidekick Slide!! That is an ugly phone! lol. And it's not really a sidekick lol more like a side....slide! haha so my opinion is to get the SideKick 2008. I currently have the Sidekick LX '09, and I absolutely love it! I've been a Sidekick family user since the 3, haha. They're great phones for texting, especially if you love Twitter & AIM. If you're going to go to a Sidekick, get the LX 09 :)

I've had all the SK's, and now have the LX '09. It is by far the best SK. I don't know what the plans are for it now, I think they are around $90/month. Since I've had an SK since 2003, I still pay what the rates were back then, and that's only $71/month. I've heard about it rebooting and deleting stuff, it happens to one of my friends with an SK '08, but it's never happened to me & I've owned all the SK's since 2003. It's a great phone, but if u don't use internet or message a lot it's way too much money. I use it for messaging and internet mainly, and it's great, especially now that it's 3G. This is what it's geared for: an internet/messaging device 1st and a phone 2nd. I would go for a cheaper phone if you don't care about those two things.

The sidekick is a great phone. Actually wait. It reboots sometimes and deletes my texts and happens to everyone I know. I have prepaid cos I barely talk on the phone. The service is great. The internet is kinda slow but I have patience for it. I'd say it's worth it.

i am getting the sidekick 2008 and i bet its gonna be an awesome phone i have the sidekick LX and its a great phone perfect for texting!

i have one prepaid so i just pay as i go. like $10 every week And a half.
