    x in terms of y—1st equation:

    3x + 4y = 6

    x = (6 - 4y)/3

    Value of y:

    3(3y - 11) = 6 - 4y

    9y - 33 = 6 - 4y

    13y = 39

    y = 3

    Value of x (1st equation):

    = (6 - 4[3])/3

    = (6 - 12)/3

    = - 6/3 or - 2

    Answer: x = - 2, y = 3

    Proof (2nd equation):

    - 3(3) + (- 2) + 11 = 0

    - 9 - 2 + 11 = 0

    0 = 0

    Rechecking (1st equation):

    3(- 2) + 4(3) = 6

    - 6 + 12 = 6

    6 = 6

    3x + 4y = 6 ---- (1)

    x - 3y = -11 ---- (2)

    multiply = > (2) x3

    3x - 9y = -33 ---(3)

    (1) - (3)

    That will give you y = 3, then x = -2

    3x + 4y = 6 --eq(1)

    -3y + x + 11 = 0 --eq(2)

    x - 3y = -11 --eq(2)

    (2) X 3;

    3x - 9y = -33 --eq(3)

    (1) - (3);

    13y = 39

    y = 39 / 13 = 3

    Using (1);

    3x + 4 = 6

    3x = 2

    x = 2/3
