why meyer choose "eclipse" as the title of the 3rd book of twilight saga?

Because Bella loves Jake, preferred to as "The Sun" but Bella loved Edward more, preferred to as "The Moon."

In an Eclipse, The Moon blocks out The Sun...

Because the title eclipse goes with the other titles of the saga:

1.Twilight-Opening of the world and first sight of Edward

2.New moon- Darkest periode for bella

3.Eclipse-its dark too, but a bit hope in it

4.Breaking dawn-many of bella's major problems are solved and it began a new life for edward and bella

When i was at the bookstore, i was a little confused, because i thought new moon and eclipse are some other separate stories. I thought all the books are named twilight and then the sub-title from the book, like the movie placard. well it turned out that i was wrong, so i hope that helps.

For further information i would recommend stephenie's site, well i guess you already checked there too.

I found the FAQ from each book very interesting and also the playlist where she recommends some music which goes very good with the story.

"Breaking Dawn" was decided upon in a conversation between Stephenie Meyer and the people that run the Twilight Lexicon fansite. The Saga's titles reflect lunar phases. Breaking Dawn is the beginning of Bella's new life, as a vampire, with Edward.

Because Edward was the Moon and Jacob was the Sun. They were fighting one another to be the center main one for Bella. In the end Edward became the center one because in the book Jacob told Bella I can't fight an Eclipse.

Because Edward is an Eclipse while jacob is the sun to Bella. And Jacob says he can't fight an Eclipse which is Edward

Somewhere in the book, near the end, Jacob is talking about how he would have been the sun to Bella -- in that conversation he states that he can't fight an Eclipse (meaning Edward). Jacob is acknowledging that Edward belongs to Bella and Bella to Edward, and that he doesn't know how to compare to the "Eclipse."

the title came from the book. closer to the end bella was talking to jake. here is what happened and this should explain.....

Eclipse-

"He's like a drug for you, Bella." His voice was still gentle, not at all critical. "I see that youcan't live without him now. It's too late. But I would have been healthier for you. Not a drug; I would have been the air, the sun."

The corner of my mouth turned up in a wistful half-smile. "I used to think of you that way, you know. Like the sun. My personal sun. You balanced out the clouds nicely for me."

He sighed. "The clouds i can handke. But I can't fight with an eclipse."

Because her love for Edward and Jacob was like an Eclipse. Edward is moody, jacob is sunny, and a eclipse is the time period in between. Like Edward is sopposed to be cloudy, rainy, and so on.
