if you pour water half way in the glass then it's half full

if you drink out half of the water from a full glass then it's half empty

If you're drinking the glass of water, it will be "half-empty" because your objective is to empty the glass of water, or to at least lessen its content.

If you're it's in the act of pouring water, and then you stop pouring cause for instance someone calls you, it's "half-full" cause your intention is to fill it with water, or at least give some content.

It depends. If you are filling the glass and stop, it's half full. If you are emptying it and stop, it is half empty :P

I'm not an optimist or a pessimist; I'm simply a realist XD

The glass is twice as large as necessary. Hooray for pragmatism!
