I live in the South and noticed baggies full of water hanging above the back doors of restaurants?
When I asked a worker about it she said it was to keep away flies. Does it work? And HOW?

There's a lot of debate about whether this works. I understand the refracted image the flies see overloads their visual system and as a result flies stay away from the bags.

i have seen that too and it work you can also fill large soda bottles with water and it keeps dogs away from using your yard as a bathroom. For dogs they say it makes them sea sick so i am guessing that might be true for the flies but i am not sure i would be interested to find out why

all of us has addressed the mould situation especially lots. i think of you may examine your hooks. you may replace them with a rack that retains the towels off the door so the towels can dry out without touching something different than the rack or hooks that they are on. No room for towel rack? They make some intense high quality double rod racks now that carry countless towels. Ikea even has a folding rack which we use in our laundry room. whilst no longer in use, it folds up out of how. this could no longer be useful in the journey that your bathing room door opens against a wall or cabinet.
