What Does a Philly Style Sub sound like to you?

I was in a great wraps store and They have the menu on the wall, under the category Philly Subs they had a list of subs, a steak sub of course, a chicken sub, and a turkey sub, so I assume since this is under the title Philly Subs that I was getting a hot sub with grilled onion and lots melted cheese, instead I got a attitude from this Russian order taker who said only a steak sandwich is a philly sub, the rest are just subs, I said hey dude you got it listed on the wall so I assumed you guys meant philly style. He continued to give me lip, so I told him to stick cheese stake up his @$$ and go hunt for Red October. Am I wrong

If the catagory was Philly subs, they should all have melted "white" (provolone or swiss) cheese and grilled onions and peppers. I live in the midwest, & even I know that. Remember, lots of big dummies out there. Something was probably lost in translation. There's a reason why he was on that side of the counter. "Dumb is forever" I'm hungry now.

Well there is a sandwich shop here that sells chicken philly cheese steaks and regular philly cheese steaks, so I would say you are right.

Philly Style is definitely with grilled onions, but surprisingly most places don't put cheese on them. And you know, I always expect the cheese! In my house, we toast the bread and put the cheese on and on and on.

You could have been nicer but no you were not wrong. He is the one who wrote up the menu and I would have taken it the way you did.
