PC Not Booting - BSOD BAD_POOL_CALLER - Stuck, how do I fix this?

One day the PC wouldn't boot. Booting causes the BSOD, tried the usual stuff. Tried reinstalling windows, the installer gets to a certain point then the BSOD appears as soon as the installed 'searches for previous windows instalations.

Hard disk has been scanned for errors, file structure errors etc on a different machine. Seems like corrupt windows files - my other machine threw up the same BSOD when I tried to load files from the /windows dir.... How can I fix this instalation???

STOP: 0x000000c2 (0x00000043, 0xc4BFA000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

If you can, then use the Ultimate Boot CD to format you hard drive, the link is below, then you can do a clean install. Yes this is drastic, but it should allow you to start afresh. If you are feeling adventurous, then you could use some of its other features to see if you can fix a disk problem etc...

Source(s): UBCD can be got ffrom http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html , just scroll down and get an iso from a mirror. It has tools for fixing all types of bad system failures, good luck!

when you tried to reinstall windows are you just talking about a system restore or are you talking about using the f8 option or the disk?

reguardless if it will not go into windows, you want to restart hitting f8 then you will get to a black screen with white writing, choose the top option, then you will put in your password, then to to another list, choose the bottom option, and it will reinstall from the harddrive, if its xp, just restart your computer hitting f11, and it will do it, it may say you have to put in your OS disk, but if it does not ask for it do not put it in, if all that fails, you will have to call the manufacturer and ask for a system restore disk, they usually cost about 20 dollars.
