How do I prevent baby from getting stuck in railing and sleep better..has bumper pads?

My 5mo old has always slept on stomach.. at 2mo he started scooting across crib to sleep in corner. Now he is squished in the corner and he wakes in the middle of the night with his arm, leg or both out of the railing and under the bumper pad....still refusing to sleep on back for more than 1/2 hr...

Have you tried squishing the bumper pads down further between the mattress and rails? You could also try weaving the bumper pad in and out of the railing, best of luck!

they advise against anything in the crib with the child such as padding as the child may go face down in the corner and suffocate

but try using a travel cot

You can go to the craft store and purchase mesh like material and weave it in and out of the crib bars.

The only thing I can think of is to let him sleep in a playpen.
