Does everyone understand that a tattoo shop is a business?

Some people complain about the shop minimum being $40-$60 (depending on the location of the tattoo shop).

Does everyone understand that besides paying the artist's commission, we have bills to pay like:

rent

electricity

Internet

heat

liability insurance

renters insurance

supplies (gloves, disposable needles, needle bags, tube bags, ink caps, lap clothes, stretcher sheets, pillow cases, meat pads, tape, paper towels, etc.)

copier lease

autoclaves ($7,000 each)

ATS (contract and tests for autoclave)

Office help (who does payroll, payables, inventory, ordering, etc.)

Art supplies

Purchasing new flash

Marketing/Advertising

Computer upgrades

Office supplies

And a million other things?

We have overhead. There is a minimum set to justify our overhead.

Update:

The point was to ask a question. Does everyone understand that a tattoo shop is a business? The minimum is set to cover overhead.

How dumb would someone have to be to not think a tattoo shop was a business?

Autoclaves are freak in expensive! I work at a dental office and just keeping up with testing to meet states regulations is a nuisance and a money thief.

Don't worry, We aren't all idiots.

I know that and honestly I think that everyone does

But I don't see the tobacco shop making me pay ten dollars every time I go in there when I just want a pack of Camels. (Seven dollar is still expensive as hell, but I choose to pay it)

Same goes for retail stores that I can spend as little as $0.75 if I really feel the need to get nothing more than a bottle of water.

    Same with the liquor store.

You know, looking at this list of places that I went today after work is making me kind of sad, so I'm gonna stop listing places that don't force you to pay a certain amount before you can even think to obtain their services.

People are selfish dipshits. Actually, I think 40 - 60 is extremely cheap... my roommate charges 80, minimum, at his shop and I think that's perfectly fair. If they wanna piss and moan about a few extra dollars and go to someone super cheap, they'll end up learning their lesson the hard way.

the concern with the Christians is they are severly brainwashed ,and actually have self belief that in case you do not have self belief in Christ you will finally end up tortured in a pit of fireplace for the eternity,so as that they like to attempt to transform you to their faith questioning that, in case you do ,God will spare you eternal damnation. extremely sick ,TWISTED concept!

What was the point of this? This isn't really a question, it was more of a rhetorical question, but it's true, it is a business, not to mention it is an art as well.
