Why aren't Vampires afraid of catching some dread disease like Aids?

Update:

I was just watching True Blood previews on Hbo and I have seen a lot of posts on here about how people want to be a vampire.... so I am a little curious.

If you're talking about modern day vampires (people who perform/feed blood rituals on a spiritual level) then vampires ARE afraid of catching bloodborne viruses.

Anyone who feeds from someone else should always ask if the doner is clean. Feeding is a very, VERY trusting practice and shouldn't be rushed into for fun or glamour

They are and it can happen according to "Vampires: Masquerade", a role playing game that allows players to behave as vampires. A vampire who feeds on a mortal with AIDS or HIV can become infected, and even worse, display the symptoms all the way to late stages.

The only difference is that a vampire cannot die from AIDS itself. They just become sicker and weaker as each day passes, until immobile, but still "alive". They can be killed by conventional vampire ways, like staking or sunlight or beheading.

I must add that the chances of this happening are pretty isolated, but it can happen. Hope this helps.

  • vampires in popular TV shows and movies as well as literature are just Fiction.

There are real vamps out there they are like anyone else with one exception the have a natural energy deficiency, therefore their bodies cannot produce the natural electricity that powers the human body. because of this they resort to other means to get that energy some drink blood others do not. there are two types of vampire, the Sanguine and the Psychic(no not psychic like they control things with there minds).

or Sang and Psi for short..

Sangs drink blood they consume small amounts at a time normally 1/2 -1 table spoon a few times a week. they get the blood from donors who are screened for disease or cows blood from a butchers shop.

Psi's feed on energy in it's most natural form it has many names Chi,Life force and Prana are a couple of those names. Psi's use a method of Reiki the art of energy healing but instead of transferring their energy to others they take energy from the source they use whether it be a person or a tree or another source of life force.

hopefully this was helpful to you..

I am so sick of uneducated people attacking my brother Bearclaw. The man is a Nurse - he knows what he is talking about - there are no such things as vampires. Anyone on here who attacks him, well, the next time you're sick don't go to the doctor, because that'll just make you a hypocrite.

<<<omg that weirdo that keeps saying vampires arnt real is here to uhh hes so annoying>>>

No, what's annoying is someone who feels the need to call a person with a much higher education names.

<<<here this is the correct answer your porably looking for

real vampires(the real ones)i think they can im not enrly sure>>>

If you're "not enrly sure" then how can you seriously claim to have "the correct answer"? Especially when you can't even spell "entirely".

<<<but my friend got some of my blood when i was getting a small cold(turned out to be a big one)and got her sick cuase she drank my sick blood so it is a possiblity>>>

Of course it's a "possibility" - that's one of the main ways viruses get introduced into the body.

<<<please help me anyone(exept the lord bearclaw from someting woods)>>>

You need to get off Bearclaw's back, stop insulting him, and keep his name out of your posts. He hasn't said one word to you.

Vampires are said to be 'dead.' Therefore, AIDS could not kill them.

Their immune systems most likely don't work anymore, anyway. This disease probably wasn't thought of when the myth was created many many many many years ago.

The next question is, "Where does the blood go after they drink it?"

But we don't have a logical answer for that. Blood goes in and nothing comes out... you have an interesting question, though.

Being immortal and already dead, vampires are immune to disease. however that doesn't mean they don't have to be careful about who they drink from. while they are largely unaffected by diseases, they can still be carriers. if a vampire feeds from someone how has AIDS he can transmit it to others through his bite. too many unexplained cases and the CDC gets involved, and it's only a matter of time before someone puts two and two together and gets fangs, and then it's the inquisition all over again.

I started watching True Blood myself, horrible series, according to the series they can get a special kind of hepatitis from contaminated donors, harmless to humans but it makes a vampire vulnerable to capture for a month.

But every book/show gives them different weaknesses and strengths.

I caught Monkey Pox....even though it reasons confusion, so i'm no longer in all probability particular what happened for 3 years after that. finally, i replaced into able to incorporate the virus, seal it in a bottle and set it out to sea. I additionally renamed it, "Dophin Pox" in honor of Nethuns.

Vampires aren't afraid of it because they have really strong immune systems that prevent that from happening but allow them to pass it on to others.

    first off, vampires don't exist

    second, vampires are not here

third, vampires don't appear in this world at all

so my conclusion is, if vampires are here, they wouldn't even have aids cause they're busy hunting for human blood or some sort of blood, and my other conclusion is......vampires don't exist!!
