Half price membership on ancestry.co.uk, is it worth it?

I got an e-mail with the half price membership details and wondering if it was worth taking out. I have done most of my research on free sites and have paid for a few individual searches but I feel I could do with a better package. Does anyone recommend it? Should I go for the essentials package or is it worth getting the premium membership? Will the memberships have any usage allowances or can I research everything I want to my hearts content?

"Essentials" is UK census & BMD's only.

For Parish records (including the much-flaunted LMA records) you need the higher level. Still UK-only though.

There are no usage limits, but if you let your membership laspe, then you cannot look at stuff put into "Your Shoebox" so be aware of that.

Yes I would recommend it,I have been using ancestry for about a year and a half now and have found hundreds of connections.

If you are really interested and intend to use the site to its full advantage I would recommend the premium package,it costs more using other sites for bits and pieces.Half price is a really good offer if you have the choice of packages to have.

It certainly is worth it. You should go for the deluxe (I think that's the middle one) - I have that one and it gives access to records from America, Canada and Australia Convict Ships.

Yeah, I'd say it's defo worth it.
