Our son started at 7 months with two bottom teeth. You can start whenever your baby is ready for solids, really, as teeth are not required. Babies don't even use their front teeth(ones they generally get in first) to chew so it doesn't matter. They'll mash up foods with their gums in the area their molars would be.

So, you don't have to wait. You could try him on some steamed veggies or fruits now.

My daughter is 11 month now but she's been eating grated cheese, crackers, "puffs" (gerber graduates snack), small pieces of fruit ect. since she was 9 months. She still only has one tooth lol. But she never crawled went straight from bum shuffling to walking.

You can try cheesies or small pieces of fruit that would melt easily first before trying something like cheese or crackers. If you see he is actually doing a chewing motion then he should be ready.

My is 9 months and i am just starting him on solid foods that he has to chew. I would wait, it is hard for them to chew food with only two teeth in the front. You could try mashed foods or buy a blender and blend all the food you cook into a soft texture. that is what i did for a few months.

  • until he has more teeth and is almost one! Right now you can start introducing rice, potato, stuff like that! Be very careful though! You should first make sure he can handle stage 3 food very well and make sure he isnt just swallowing it and he is actually making an effort to chew! Dont rush him, let him be a baby

I waited with both of my children until they had at least 4-6 teeth, unless it's something soft like a donut or something that desolves like the fruit star snacks. I wouldn't give your baby something too difficult.
