Wearing the head-scarf over the ears?
I would like a little detail about the head covering over the ears. I had heard that when Muslim men (Such as in Saudi Arabia) they were the head scarf over there head and all the way down.
Another person once told me that the headscarf is not supposed to fall over the ears just like the pant garment is not supposed to fall over your ankles during namaz.
If you can give me a verse from the Quran or a hadith about this id appreciate it.
No, no, no, I was asking if it is permissible to have the headscarf fall over the ears, because I heard it was just like not rolling up your pant garments.
Moses, you have no idea what your talking about.

Wearing a cover on the head is from the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (saw). However, it is not the same as you see in saudi, where the men wear the shamaagh. In this case if a muslim were to wear the shamaagh with the intention of defying the dress of the kuffaar and imitating the style of the muslims, then he would be rewarded for being in compliance with the Prophet's command to differ from the disbelievers.
Also there is no prohibition for allowing the head cover to fall below the ears. What some of the scholars have prohibited is not letting in drape and placing its ends on top of your head, in accordance to the hadeeth where the prophet prohibited praying with the hair tied up, stating it should be allowed to prostrate.

All of a woman is awrah. The Awrah of Salat is not the same as the Awrah of looking.
The Awrah of Salat is covering everything but the hands and face.
The Awrah of Looking is covering everything including the face and hands.
Therefore ears are considered awrah so you have to cover them.

if you are asking for men , there is no requirement for men to cover their hair. Men are only required to cover from navel to knees.
Women need to cover every part except for face and hands including the ears.
