Tmobile, Prepaid, and The new Sidekick lx 2009 (blade)?

Does anyone know if you can have the sidekick lx 2009 as a prepaid phone? Or do you need a Plan ? :l

    If tmobile has sim cards then you can buy the phone and switch the sim cards.
