    Oh how I love Brian. I thought that there was speculation that his mental illness wasn't as bad - that it was his guru doctor that messed him up with all those medications, and even that that "doctor" was intentionally keeping him all zombied up.

    In any event, a genius he was. Even the "simple" songs are complicated in their compositions.

    I really love all BB tunes - but God Only Knows, Good Vibrations, Heroes & Villians and Wouldn't it be Nice are my top favs. I also like Vegatables, Little Pad, Whistle In and Getting Hungry are great also.

    To someone above me - Do Wah Diddy wasn't the Beach Boys, it was Manfred Mann, who also did a remake of Springsteen's Blinded By The Light.

    I've seen the Beach Boys many times over my lifetime of 50+ years, but only once with Brian. He has a very special place in my heart, so, Happy Birthday Brian!!

    I commend Brian for getting through his battles with drug abuse and mental illness. He has been through quite a lot.

    One of my musical heroes as well. Good Vibrations God Only Knows 'Til I Die Surf's Up California Girls In My Room Sail On, Sailor Tons more. BQ: Meet Me in My Dreams Tonight, or "Our Prayer - Gee" from the 2004 "SMiLE", one of the greatest intros imo.
