Have a question about a ford....?

I have a 1994 Ford E150 conversion van with a 5.0 L engine. My oil pressure gage isn't working, and I need to know where the oil pressure unit is. Thanks.

Ignoring the morons who THINK they are being funny and just trying to build points!

The Oil pressure switch on the 5 liter (302ci) V8 is on the driver's side of the engine, down low in front of the exhaust manifold, screwed into the block. Many times on Fords, the wire gets broken or simply knocked off the top of the sending unit.

Easiest way to find it is to crawl under the vehicle with a flashlight.

If you do need to change it, I'd recommend doing an oil and oil filter change at the same time. That will make the job less messy. And also ask your local auto parts store about an oil sender socket. There is a special socket that fits on a standard socket wrench that protects the ceramic parts of the new unit when being put in. A regular wrench or socket can do the job, but a slip will ruin the new unit.
