how do I convert a DAT file to text?
I want to convert IM archive sent by my friend in text ( i.e.a notepad or wordpad document ) which is in DAT file format

download a dat to text file converter, Just google it.

Right click on the file and select [open with] option. Then select notepad.
The easiest way is, open the blank notepad and drag the file in the notepad.
Then go to file menu and select [save as] txt. For more help catch me on below site

select dat file and right click then go to property andchange the .dat xtension.
or after select press F2 then and renamefile name with .txt extension
