I'm from the Philippines and will be visiting my grandfather and aunt in New Jersey next week. Need advice!?

Well it's only my second time going there and the first one was when I was a kid and now i'm 21. I have questions and please answer as many as you want.

1st question: I plan to bring my laptop with me, do you think it would cause some problems if I brought it in the plane? What stuff would be checked out.

2nd question: What clothes should I bring since I would be staying for a couple of months, what styles of clothing would be appropriate so that I could blend in?

3rd question: What are the good places to see in New Jersey and good hangout places for my age ?

4th question: Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated regarding my situation.(e.g. about other stuff aside from the mentioned above)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Update:

Thanks a lot for those who answered. I'm getting excited! LOL.

1st question:As far as I am concerned the only thing you got to worry about is how you are going to use your laptop in Jersey because of the different voltage....but they sell stuff to solve that problem in just about anywhere they sell luggage or electronics.

2nd question: Bring a sweater if you have one the weather is wacky here, jeans, pants, cotton t-shirts, shorts...basically anything, but I advise you not to wear florals if you do for me I think that's abit disturbing even if you do live here:)

3rd question:I don't really know where you should go...museums I guess oh and don't forget Atlantic city! Cool stores, casinos if your interested in that and a nice beach nearby with even more stores:) The mall! Trust me buy some clothes here...

4th question: Ehh...I think your all set...oh bring money cause stuff here is alot more expensive than it is there, so have a good time:D

The others answered your questions very nicely. I'll just add that you could visit Seaside Heights Boardwalk & beach. There is also Great Adventure Amusement Park. If you're staying for the entire summer you could also go to historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania & New York City. I hope you enjoy it here.

    1) it's fine on the plane. almost all business travellers do this. they may ask you to turn it on, just to see it is a computer, and not a bomb in a laptop case.

    2) cargo shorts, jeans, button-up shirt, decent shoes, t-shirt and shorts for the beach, sandals

    3) haven't been there myself so idk

    4) HAVE FUN. Bring more money than you think you will need because it is expensive in the USA.

Take approximately $one hundred in money and alter it to pesos on the airport in the previous you depart. call your economic enterprise or atm company and tell them you choose worldwide regulations bumped off out of your enjoying cards. ATM machines there settle for each and each of the main enjoying cards in basic terms like in united states of america of u.s.. they're going to dispense pesos in case you're there. The substitute fee would be greater efficient than all and sundry supply you with in greenback to peso substitute. in case you need to substitute money there use a economic enterprise, not a highway money changer in little sales area. those are thieves and crooks. you could not spend money there for charge of something. Its a distant places united states of america with their own forex.
