Oh yeah definatetly. The episode ends with a discussion between Brian and Stewie about whether or not the fact that the entire last two episodes were a simulation would anger viewers. Stewie says "Well, it just doesn't end like the Sopranos when it goes to black mid-se.." and then the screen goes to black and the show ends, referencing the abrupt finale for that series. It was genius and besides the episode was great real or not.
