I am a mechanical engineer and approximately 10 years in the past I owned an 89' blazer. Salt water will corrode whatever steel. This will impact whatever electrical. Buy three cans of De-Oxit! touch cleanser, a small stainless-steel brush, and begin pulling each electric plug, fuse, relay or connector you'll be able to discover and a million) brush it if in any respect feasible, in the event you cant are compatible it, then two) use a q-tip soaked within the De-Oxit, thenlet the ones take a seat for three mins with the answer on it, and positioned vaseline (vaseline blocks oxidants and maintains the relationship from failing) at the connectors and re-construct them. Distributor: First, use a scotch brite pad and blank the entire steel contacts within and out, the spark plug cord connections too, then I might use a gentle quantity of de-Oxit at the within of the distributor, cap and rotor then wipe it off after five mins. Spark plug wires: Spray WD-forty on a rag till its doused, then wipe the outside down on every one with it, getting it blank. Look for hairline cracks within the cord, in the event you discover one, this may increasingly purpose the engine not to run competently and I might change any wires that do. Good Luck! P.S. Pressure wash the backside of the vehicle and the entire nooks and crannies to get the salt out of there, it'll devour your frame and body too! Then Spray it with Amsoil Metal Protectant spray, it acts like a oily wax undercoating that impedes rust from constructing.
