    No!

  • you dont have to have a lawyer to file an abuse case. You need to start with contacting the police, the DA will be further down the road. I am from Houston, Texas and I know the police should be responive to this, but I dont know first hand what Pat Lykos's (she is the new DA) record on spousal abuse is as a DA. First thing though is stopping the abuse, and filling charges, the divorce is a seperate issue that can be taken care of later.

The city of Dallas is very democrat and also very corrupt. Kind of like Chicago. Their council meetings are like a "who can claim racism the most" contest. If you go to the suburbs of Dallas you will find very conservative cities. Houston has been liberal for a long time. This is nothing new. Austin is the home of liberalism in Texas. Fort Worth is more Conservative. Lubbock is more Conservative East Texas is more conservative. While you may have a few big cities that are liberal, if you look at the elections in the state house and senate, you will find that it is controlled by the Republican party. One's education at Sam Houston explains a lot. Go Jacks! lol

Contact your local Legal Aid office at 1-800-733-8394. They can help with the divorce issue.

Regarding the physical abuse, go to the police and file for a Protection From Abuse order/Civil Restraining Order. You won't have to pay.
