1990 Chrysler Imperial gas pedal stops working?
I have a 90 Chrysler Imperial and I DO need a tune-up but sometimes while I'm driving the gas pedal quits working. The car does NOT die, it simply just quits working. By the time I pull over, the power comes back and it drives fine.... til it happens again. Happened about 7 times since January? It doesn't matter if I'm on the highway, or if the air is on or off. Strange?? Any ideas on what this could possibly be would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the fuel pump may be ready to quit. Have someone check out the pressure.

Check the throttle cable, but I suspect it's ok.
Check for engine codes using this:

It could be a sensor in the throttle body or possibly the hall effect pickup. Check the codes before you start guessing and replacing though.
At the very least, change the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Use a can of carb cleaner and clean out the inside of the throttle body (follow directions).

the throttle cable could be lose and this is causing it to slip. they stomping on it(while in park with engine running) and see if you have the provblem
