Readers and/or writers? Gotta question 4 ya!?
Ok . . . Sorry so long . . . I'm going to write a book . . .well kinda bt i'd like to kno wat other people think about my idea . . so here it is: Warning this isn't quite done and it's in note form . . .
Ok so this girl is lost and she asks this guy for directions. (she would take a cab, but her purse was stollen, so this guy hails a cab and gives the driver $50) So she wants to know how to contact him so she can pay him back cuz she hates taking what she sees as charity. He gives her a piece of paper that reads "Candle of Hope" and tells her if she can find him using that piece of paper, she can pay him back. If not, they'd never see each other again. So she doesn't some research and basically is sent on a type of scavenger hunt to a bookstore, the circus, a coffee shop, an apartment building, a travel agency, and many other odd places all the while picking up clues that lead her to her next stop.
And without realizing it, she starts to fall for her angel (that's what the guy calls himself in phone conversations and emails and he's falling just as hard for her.
Idk . . . i'd just like to see what yall think . .. so give general ideas or even your own ideas to add to it . . . . idk just whatever you think . . . Thanx i really appreciate it!!!

It sounds interesting to me. In my opinion, you can write about ANYTHING and as long as it is good writing, it is awesome. I have no interest in Everest, but the book Into Thin Air was so well-written that the pages were smoking I was reading so fast. So keep that in mind as you write. If you have believable characters that the reader can connect with, then you can do anything, have any plot.
I like your idea a lot and I think you should follow it! Good luck!

ya! that sounds really interesting:) just make sure the characters are unique and well defined and aren't just there because they have to be. i think the reason the twilight series was such a hit was because of the characters! anyone could write a vampire story but it was the way you connected with the characters that brought the story to life. also make sure you have action inbetween the scavenger hunt locations so it doesn't get boring:)
good luck:D
