Roy Jones Jr. or Shane Mosley in their primes?
I'd think it would be an intense match-up and as much as I like Roy Jones Jr. I think Tyson would over-power him and win...

ROY JONES JR. WOULD DESTROY MOSLEY!!

Assuming the question is on a pound-for-pound basis (meaning that we pretend that they are the same weight and measure skill) Jones was definitely the most accomplished well-rounded fighter of the two. Jones, like Michael Spinks before him, never posed an actual threat to the heavyweight division as a whole but was able to come and secure a championship on sheer skill. Mosely struggled with what was supposed to be inferior opponents while many considered him to be in his prime. This is something Jones never did. Jones' defeats came during his decline, yet he still remained a serious threat to be avoided by many of the top fighters. Mosley lost (twice) to Vernon Forrest, which is a name the casual fight fan has forgotten, and this is while he was in his so called prime. People point out the he beat Dela Hoya, but the fact remains that there are some who still believe that the first fight could have gone to DelaHoya.

Jones toyed with, and totally embarrassed an unbeaten, prime, and in shape James Toney, making him look like a drunk club fighter. He would have beaten Mosley at that weight. That isn't a slam against Mosley, who is a class act and a great fighter. Jones was simply a freak who was unbeatable in his prime. The fact that he has fallen so far only goes to prove that losing even the slightest edge can push a fighter from the top to also ran status in the blink of an eye. Jones was the fastest fighter ever, and would have given anyone fits.

I am from Pomona, CA home of Shane Mosley. However Roy Jones in his prime was the GOAT. His rare blend of speed, power & unorthodox punching style made him the best.
Shane is a proud and very great champion. He has had problems with several fighters style in his prime. Something Roy never had. Granted there was more competition in Shane's weight divisions, but it is what it is.

If Vernon Forrest can give Shane such trouble, Roy Jones Jr. would have destroyed Shane. At his best even a prime and peaking James Toney or Bernard Hopkins could handle Roy, it is unlikely Shane Mosley would have done any better than the rest.
Jones would have taken Shane easily, much like he did Trinidad.

Roy Jones Jr. in his prime was one of the most exciting boxers of all time. Speed, powers, and the ability to throw his apponent off his game.

the night that roy jones outhustled and embarrased bernard hopkins (the future great middleweight champion with 20 defenses ) he was unbeatable....if roy jones would have fought hagler, monzon, robinson or greb, he would have decisioned them as well. roy jones at his peak was the fastest and most gifted fighter ever, he didn't jab, kept his hands down and relied on his pin point reflexes, just toying with other fighters. roy jones was alot like sugar ray robinson in that they carried their opponents and sometimes fought at the level of their competition. to answer your question, roy jones was heavier and still much faster than mosley in both hand and foot speed, physically stronger and a much harder puncher than sugar shane.....in his prime, roy would have his way and easily decision mosley, but if he got angry or bored, he would have knocked him out if he felt like it. also, before you ask a question, check your words, you say that "tyson would over-power him and win", it has nothing to do with this question.

???????? two different weight classes if you talking about Mosley and Jones Jr. Obviously Jones Jr will win. Dumb question. It's like asking you who would win, Pacquaio or Jermain Taylor?

The weight class differences makes it hard to analyse, but I think at 154...that's a weight where Roy flourished and Shane lost twice to Winky Wright...Roy would destroy him. He was superhuman there. They both are fast but I see Roy as faster...and naturally bigger. Roy only had one loss at that weight (in 50 bouts) and that was a disqualification to Montell Griffin for hitting him while he was down. He wasn't beaten.
