Is it possible to buy, or adopt, unadopted land next to my house?
Theres a small patch of unused land behind my house that is no use to anyone. Although im pretty sure its classed as unadopted (which as far as i can make out means its private to all those that have a boundry to it) but theres no access there to anyone elses house but mine. It would make a great drive so im quite keen to own it.
Can anyone help with the legal issues with this?

Don't know about the UK but in the USA it might just be that the land is a utility easement only.

get in touch with your local council to see if anyone does own it first then go to local citizens advice to find out about the rest
