Where do you think the Spurs stand after getting Richard Jefferson from the Bucks?
They traded Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas to get him.
they also got Amir Johnson a big man from the Pistons for Frabracio Oberto.
I think the Spurs added a solid offense now to go with their outstanding defense. I like the Spurs chances at making a championship run this season.
They still have great depth and now Tony Parker,Manu Ginobli,Richard Jefferson, and Tim Duncan as their core.
If they stay healthy that will be a solid 4 who can be very dangerous and put alot of points on the board.
I think the Spurs showed they're trying to win it all again.
The Spurs right now are my early pick to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals.
Two questions
1.Where do the Spurs stand after getting Richard Jefferson
2.What are the Spurs chances of making it to the NBA Finals now?

This trade really improved alot of their weaknesses from last year, not to the maximum but fills some serious holes.
They now have a fourth offensive player who can be much more efficient than with the bucks if he sees a lower volume, and can take him off an aging bench. He provides just a little more punch that all the up and coming young teams have and is a good compliment to their system. He has played with the contendign nets and knows how to win. He is also a perfect fill in to rest manu and fill in if he is hurt, which is often, and essential to remain in contention as well as he takes a greater load off duncan, whos age is just beggining to catch up.
Amir johnson solves their issues with youth on the bench and a youthfull and healthy frontline player to an extent. His hustle is commendable, he is very athletic, and his enthusiasm and defense will help the aging duncan defensively and on the offensive end and liven a pretty tired looking bench.
although jefferson is older, and that hurts to an extent, he is the scorer they need and not all problems can be solved. He has the long arms of a decent defender and fits the system well.
THe spurs age is still evident but with a little more youth and scoring, i think the burden can be lifted and iwth smaller roles for the aging stars, they are definately capable when healthy, which is an if, of going deep into the playoffs and have the grit to tough out teams like denver and la if they must.
No, i think they are much improved, an the finals are not overwhelmingly likely but in reach.
they still cannot run with the best so agaisnt a stacked team that is very young like an la or denver or portland they would have to play old spurs d, efficient offense, and play their best possibel series, but i think it is definately possible.
this trade went a decent way and is the best quick fix one could hope for.
hope i helped, the spurs have a pretty good chance i think, filling their hole at small forward, and bringing in energy, although they may need one more big man.

i really like the trade because it adressed the position that has been porous for a while now-small forward.. they needed an athletic 3 that can finish and take some pressure off the spurs big 3.. bowen was always a good defender but is nowhere near the offensive player jefferson is.. they now possess a "big 4" and i think their top 4players are better than any other teams top 4 players when healthy.. they did give up some frontcourt depth so finding a big man or two either through the draft or free agency is a must to give duncan some help rebounding and on defending the basket.. i think they are right back in the hunt for a title.. i say the lakers are 1 in the west as of right now and the spurs and denver are 2a and 2b(houston can jump in this mix if they resign artest)..

The concern is the center position. By trading Kurt Thomas and Oberto away, it looks like Duncan is the only one who can defend the paint and it will take a big toll on Duncan if he has to guard Yao, Bynum, Gasol, Stoudemire, Alridge...etc. night in and night out... (Gooden is not a big post defender)
Amir Johnson can play a little but he was wildly inconsistent with the Pistons... If they want to keep Duncan fresh for playoffs, Spurs need to get someone who can defend the paint and take some burden off Duncan defensively.

first orbeto also was in that trade too but when He to the bucks they traded him for amir Johnson. they will probably be number 2 or 3 doesn't really matter. And will have a really good chance because they never give up. ps amir is with the bucks

If Spurs make the final then they win the championship. They've always had no trouble disposing of Eastern opponents. Lakers will prove to be their biggest foe.

They stand as the 2nd best team in the West and a Championship Contender

This exchange has truthfully grown on me ago part an hour. I believe my Spurs will truthfully be an potent contender this yr. They were shrewd with trades, and received Jefferson and Gooden for actually not anything ago 2 trades. I believe that that is nice for my crew now, we will get additional rebounds, facets, and shielding aid now. The crew may be more youthful with the extra to Jefferson. Next yr the Spurs shall be nice! They gave away not anything to the crew (besides a little bit safety) for a nice participant within the league proper now who can publish what the Spurs want. Although, I nonetheless believe they want a enormous guy as good I believe it is a well exchange.

1. They are a solid playoff team.
2. I don't think they will get past the second round.

The Spurs are one of the NBA's smartest, well-run teams. They always have been.

i say they are now a top 3 or 4 team in the west...
i still would take the lakers or nuggets over them but they could make it to the WCF next season...
