Why does Europe have more World heritage sites than China?

    I see what you mean. China is around the same size as Europe, so why wouldn't they have more world heritage sites? Well, The World Heritage base their sites around nature and culture. Europe has 50+ countries with so much history and culture. It has such diverse geography as well.

    I wouldn't say China is left out though. It has a good long list of sites. I think I counted 35+. That's more then Canada and United States combined! :)

    It's unfair to compare a continent with a country. Nevertheless, China as a whole has got more world heritage sites than the whole of Europe combined.

    Uhmmm....europe is a collection of countries, hence a continent, while China is one country?

    If you had asked why does europe have more world heritage sites than asia, then it would be a fair comparison...

    because lots of heritage sites in China were destroyed in wars.

    Lots of Medevil fights and battles happened there. Also it was due to the fact that most of those countries were at war with eachother and different ways of dealing with life there own little way.
