There could be several different things going on here. You need to see your doctor to be sure. It could be something as simple as anxiety, which your doctor could give you medicine to calm you down, suggest a counselor or other calming techniques like yoga, meditation, massage, etc. It could also be something physically wrong, like a stomach ulcer or gastric reflux. It is a common misconception that acid reflux only starts with symptoms of heartburn; that is so not true! You could have nausea, stomach pain, burning, belching, sore throat, vomiting just to name a few. Have you tried something over the counter like Pepcid AC or Prilosec? Those are things you could take before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning. It wouldn't hurt to try, but I still suggest you see your doctor to make sure he/she agrees with trying that. Elevate the head of your bed by sticking a blanket or extra pillow under the mattress, see if that helps. It could also be your gallbladder. You may not have stones or something like that, but the function of the gallbladder could be slowing down. Usually when that happens you have more bloating and abdominal pain symptoms, but it could just be making you nauseous. An ultrasound would confirm the presence of stones, while a HIDA scan would test the function of the gallbladder. Good luck!
