What is normal? (Rather embarrassing)?

I can recall since about a year before I started my first period (About 6 years ago now) I've dealt with pretty heavy discharge. I have to wear liners every day, and cannot go without them. I absolutely hate it, I feel inhibited and embarrassed.

But I am wondering, what amount of discharge is normal, or does it vary person by person and I've just got the short end of the stick?

And if I'm particularly abnormal, should I see a gynecologist about it? I've never been before.

I'm pretty embarrassed, I've never talked about it before, but if I'm being too vague I'll add additional info.

it varies, and if the discharge looks ok and doesnt have a strong smell, if theres no burning when you pee or pain in your lower back or abdomen, you're probably fine, but it wouldn't hurt to see a gyno just for peace of mind

It varies by person, I know that my discharge is really heavy the couple days before my period. My mom wears liners all day and everyday. To me it doesn't sound abnormal but if you feel this uncomfortable about the matter go see your doctor. I hope I helped

i have heavy discharge too but mine thins out before my period! weird

if its oddly colored or has strange smell that's when to worry!

certain smells are ok though they had a large article on it in 17 magazine a while ago

you could always check with a gynecologist never a bad idea!

Well it probably varies for everyone. For me, sometimes I have a little bit, sometimes it's a LOT. It all depends on the day, for me, I guess.
