Dell d630 laptop shuts down?

When i got the laptop it would not power on a/c adapter was ok. I replace the dt781 motherboard with a R872J board. only difference was i went from intel video chip to nvidia chip. Now it turns on for a little while then just shuts off. I can get to the bios screen but it will shut off. the more i turn it back on it shuts off quicker. whats going on?

    i have a dell lat d610 and it sounds like your battery is the problem, i had a similer problem and i upgraded the battery and it fixed it

    are you sure the replacement parts are compatible

    you might contact dell and ask
