How many servings of fruits and veggies do you eat every day?
I've been reading some statistics lately, and they vary but the upshot is that only 10 to 20% of Americans eat the recommended minimum of five fruits and veggies in a day. I find that very troubling.
It made me wonder, though, what the average is among vegetarians and vegans. So how do you do on average?

At least five. More at the beginning of the week right after I have bought food, on that last day before I go buy more food it's probably only five. Yesterday I had over ten, the normal day it's probably around eight to ten. The majority of my servings are always fruit. Today so far I've had three servings of fruit and three of veggies but more will come. Definitely more fruit, I love fruit. I like the question, I was wondering this the other day.

Yes I do. I keep a bowl of clean washed fruit out in the open in my frig so everyone is reminded they're there. I clean all the veggies as soon as I get them home.Carrots, celery, peppers etc. and cut them into sticks before placing into a plastic storage bag. That way they always get eaten up as they're ready. We don't waste any fruits or veggies here.

Only five seems ridiculously low. I had at least that for lunch today. I usually have like 10-20 I guess, depending on the day. I snack on them throughout the day and have them as a large part of meals and as smoothies and stuff. I'm vegan though so I guess it's to be expected.

I am not a vegetarian, but I get the majority of my calories from fruits and veggies, and very little from meats. As far as number of daily servings, 8-10 I would have to guess, half from fruit.

Depends, but on average about 10 servings. I live off of fresh fruits and grilled/steamed veggies at home. When I am away from home, it hard to get access to good veggies at restaurants and I am left with no other choice but an iceberg salad and fries :( Houston isn't the most veg-friendly place)

I'm an omni, but I eat lots of fruits and veggies. I love fruit. I have strawberries in my cereal for breakfast, at least one piece of fruit for lunch, at least one vegetable for dinner, and a couple pieces of fruit for dessert. Oh, and I drink fruit juice several times a day, which also counts.

At least ten. Include potatos (fries) and the number jumps considerably.
A banana and a serving of fruit for breakfast.
Three-four servings for lunch.
Five or so servings at dinner.
Add in a couple snacks, some strawberries, apple, etc.

I eat them for snacks during the day (in between breakfast and lunch, after school, a bit before dinner, some with dessert).
I also have veggies with every meal.
But I just LOVE fruits and veggies :) they're so yummy!
