Again, since we on the crime ting thanks to Barracuda...I mean Pelham?
What is your take on corporal punishment? Do you think the treat of hanging is an effective deterrent?
I meant capitol punishment, not corporal.
T.S....yes dahlin....it's one and only Jouvert. :)
Excuse me Barracuda, as pointed as your comments are regarding the police force, the question was about hanging. Stick within the parameters nah man.

Well it may be a deterent but in the end suppose you hang the wrong man and laster on like 5 years later the real perpetrator of the crime admits to it? what would happen then? cause the innocent person is dead already.
I think that sometimes jail is too easy but still I believe that hanging is a bit risky.

Hi and good day to you. Threatening to hang people is wasting time. It should be done. If the crime is punishable by death and all the procedures are followed correctly, then hang him high. There is the other option of using lethal injection. All the people in charge are only talking but are not doing anything. If it was their family that was killed, they would be in front of the line. Twenty years ago it was not enforced and look at the situation now, if nothing is done now what will it be in the next 10 -15 years. Whatever happens later down the road is all our fault because we are doing nothing now to prevent that. Right now we are making the beds for our children to lie in and many of them would die in it. Sorry to sound so harsh but that's really how it is. Take care.

Barracuda's first order of business, put all police in pink outfits and pom poms. Up next gay parade for Carnival, no more fast cars only solar powered.
2nd order, try to get a date with Martin Joseph
3rd order hit on Imbert, try to get to build him a nice girly house with a moat
4th thank his sugar daddy Mr. Hart for the box of ky and condoms gift set
Source(s): oh i say hang the MF's and shoot the rest ! - 1 decade ago
Well when you hang a man he cannot commit any more crimes. Nor can he direct any crimes from prison with the readily available cell phones there.
When former Prisons Commissioner Hercules was killed his killer was confident: "Dey doh hang people in Trinidad again."

I'm flattered to be mentioned Jouvert.
I think capitol punishment is barbaric and speaks of underdeveloped minds and therefore an underdeveloped country. There must be punishment for crime but killing is not the civilized answer.

Um, I don't think that's corporal punishment!
Your police force is incompetent.
Here's the problem with Trinidad. I see stray dogs running around, it's dirty everywhere, people drive like madmen and the accident fatality rate is through the roof, kidnappings are rampant, as well as crime, yet, I see people walking around in fancy clothes and driving expensive cars!!
I mean, is this a nation run by children or something? Your police are pathetic! PATROL! Don't stand in one spot with a MACHINE GUN! Put the machine guns away! Have cars patrol around, and have cops walk around in urban areas. Set up speed traps. You have bodyguards walking around with M4 rifles, that's ridiculous. You don't need that at the mall!
Go tell the Prime Minister that I'll come down and work there and fix that country. It's ridiculous how backwards Trinidad is. You can't party all the time and abdicate your responsibility.
