Doesn't everyone wake up with bad breath?

It's normal for that to happen. That's why you need to brush your teeth in the morning, too.

And maybe a tongue scraper would help anyways. Most of the bad breath in our mouth comes from our tongue and all the junk on it.

You are doing good by brushing your teeth. However you need to know that most bad breath comes from bacteria on the tongue, especially on the back of your tongue. Look in mirror for some white stuff which must be removed if you are going to get rid of your bad breath. Do not clean your tongue with a toothbrush because a toothbrush is designed to clean your teeth, not your tongue. I use OraBrush tongue cleaner which has the proper type brush and scraper to clean the back of your tongue. Mouth wash, gum, mints will coverup bad breath for a short time but these products do not get rid of the bacteria. Look at your tongue after you clean it. If the white stuff is still there, clean it again.

You can try this before going to bed.Gargle a cup of lukewarm water mixed with salt or half a lemon juice. Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth and don't swallow. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/

Go to the dentist, and get proper oral Hygiene instructions. You may not brush your teeth in proper ways. Try using floss and see if you see any bleeding on your gums. If you see bleedings, you need to keep flossing everyday. You might need to get thorough cleaning/scaling of you teeth. Sometimes it takes time to get rid of bad breath completely. You need to be patient, and see your dentist.
