If MJ was just another person on your block?

If he was just a person on your block or in your building, and he acted, dressed and had the accusations against him, would you miss him and pay your respects when he died? Would you be saddened etc. I find it very hypocritical that people are so saddened etc because of him being a celebrity. Just my question of the day. Would you be saddened or glad that the "freaky guy" down the street was gone?

Update:

What positive contributions has he made to this world with his music? yes some of it was good, but my point is that yes people are more saddened because of his celebrity than the actual person he was. And it pretty much sickens me when people are so sad and put up tributes etc when a celebrity dies, but who does this for the Grandma who has taken in her grandchildren when she dies? Who does these things for the person who jumps in a lake to save a life and loses their life instead? Nobody. It is just another day when that happens.

Update 2:

sk8r girl: have you gone online or to your police station and looked to see how many rapists or pedophiles you are living by? You are very naive, and don't think you are old enough or smart enough to call me retard. I have lived alot longer and experienced a lot more than you have.

Maybe because he was a legend that changed music foreever? just a thought...

and you're lucky i'm answering like this because I personally don't like Michael Jackson.

EDIT: MAYBE because He's FAMOUS. DUH!! No one knows the guy who drowned for someone else! He just did what anyone would do!

Michael Jackson is someone who MANY people like, and can relate to! Seriously it doesn't make a difference about who the person is, Michael Jackson was liked by MANY people.

If you haven't realized this by now, NO ONE is EQUAL.

SORRY, but that's LIFE. Get over it.

No one cares about your great grandad, who is he to me?

Why should *I* care about a loved one who I don't even KNOW? seriously. wow.

I wouldn't be sad, nor would I be glad. That's the same as I feel now. For many years now, Michael Jackson has been a sad freak. Apparently nobody around him cared about him enough to tell him to straighten up. Nobody would say no to him, and he clearly was unable to make good decisions about his life.

I feel pretty much nothing. I didn't know the guy, wasn't a fan, and it's no different to me if he lived on my block or at Neverland.

But, then again, I'm not much into the celebrity stuff.

Source(s): Ironically, I just came back from the wake of the woman who lived across the street from me. She died on Sunday at the age of 75, and she was such a caring, good person who raised five fine children. She deserves, but would not want, more attention and mourning than MJ's death is receiving. .

A lot of people were saddened because of the loss of a great musical talent. Not just because he was a celebrity. People have acknowledged his 'bizarre' nature but choose to remember the great performer. Which I personally think is how it should be.

I think everyone is sad when they hear someone dies because it's a fact brought to our attention that no one can control. So yes I would be sad if I heard about someone's death regardless of who it was or if he was 'freaky' as you seem to think he would be.

He wasnt just a person on the block. He was like a family member to every single person in the world. When you grow up listening to someone for 15 years, and trust me, most people did.....thats more than just your average celebrity. Majority of people on this earth owned his album, so majority of people on earth are affected. You dont buy albums from the freaky guy down the street and people from Thailand to UK to Brazil dont know who the freaky guy down the street is. MJ became a household name, so he was everybody's freaky guy down the street, but we actually listened to his music, so he was even more than that. You are younger than 25, thats obvious without you stating your age. Nobody would say that who was alive at that time. Elvis was a weirdo too, and this was the Elvis of our generation, maybe even bigger because he sold more. 100 years from now, people will be talking about this day. You should consider yourself LUCKY to be alive on the day this happened, to say you were there and saw the news. Just like people who were alive when Hendrix or Elvis died. Its that big, maybe bigger because so many people grew up with him. So when he dies, its more than just a human being died, its a piece of billions of people's childhoods dying.

I'd still be sad. He has three children that he clearly loves deeply. I'm not sad because we lost an entertainer although his ability to entertain was incredible. I am mostly saddened because three young children lost their loving father and have to hear terrible things about their father daily all of which are simply allegations.

If he was a stranger on my block i would feel the same way.

Well I don't like it when people died, it doesn't matter who dies, but it is the significance of him no longer being able to perform his amazing music, and what he contributed to the world that I think people are sad about.

if he was just a person like one of us and he lived on my block. yes i would feel the same way. i am friends with people on my block. when i invite someone into my home as a friend i invite them in to my heart as a family member. so yes i would be sad if he was one of us. he was not a freak, he never had the chance to have a childhood because of his fathers greed for money. he was a kid at heart up to his death. and people going around saying horrid things about him is wrong. karma is a biotchh and it will bite them on the @ss soon.

it makes me sad when anyone dies no matter what they did or didn't do or if they are a celebrity or not people are people and if people have any heart at all they will at least feel bad or sorry or something i know even if i saw a homeless man who i didn't know and they died i would still feel bad that just goes to show that i have heart no matter who it happens too

i've known "freaky guys" who weren't what we would call normal, but had the BIGGEST hearts. i would feel sad. Michael had a HUGE heart. he was a great man. Now, if he was a completely evil person, i'd still be alittle sad (when someone dies it's always a sad thing) but that would be it.

I think its terrible whenever a person dies. When it comes down to the situation of being the 'creepy guy' or even someone you were never fond of, i always try and think of their friends and families and the effect that the death is having on everyone else. its always sad when anyone dies though
