Who will be a better pro, Tyreke Evans or Ricky Rubio?
that is the choice Geoff Petrie had to make for my team and he went with Evans
now i think they are about equal because they play different styles and are harder to compare
if rubio drives, his first option is passing, then scoring
if evans drives, his first option is scoring, then passing
so in other words
RUBIO is a passing PG
EVANS is a scoring PG
thoughts?

They both will be good at different things.
But I'm so glad the Kings got Tyreke!

Tyreke Evans because Evans is NBA ready as we speak and Rubio is straight up upside and you don't know what you are going to get yet. Evans is more of a sure bet and the Kings made the right choice.

Well...
Rubio is the type of player who is a high risk / high reward because he could turn out one of two ways.
1. He could come into the league and start out as a great team player and passer who does the same thing in the NBA that he did in spain, he could develop a reliable offensive strategy for when he needs to score and work a lot on his athleticism. If he did this he could be the next Steve Nash, without the shooting touch.
2. He could come into the NBA and turn into the type of player who everyone thinks has potential but never reaches it. He could turn out to be a little bit like Jose Calderon, but not as good.
Either way I think it will take Rubio a few years to even develop into either of those players, so if the Kings would have taken him, i can see that the Maloofs would have been frustrated with him in his first few years, because they seem to have the patience of a three year old boy who wants a candy bar.
Evans is the type of player who did well in college, did well in workouts and has the posibility to be a great wing player. I think he to could turn out one of two ways.
1. He could ajust to playing point guard in the NBA after just a few months, he could still score and drive to the hoop, using his larger than most PG's body to be physical and a great defensive presence. He could learn to put his team ahead of himself and always look to pass first, but take the open looks and create when he needs to.
2. He could become a good player in the NBA, just not a point guard, he could develope into a selfish player and always try to look for his shot first and everyone else second, basically like Allen Iverson but not as good.
I think that it is impossible to tell who was the better pick until at least most or half way through this next season, only time will tell who was the better pick.
