the question is:
the hour hand of a clock is 8 cm long.calculate the distance by the tip of the hour hand in 150 minutes.use pie 22/7 where necessary...i need the calculation..

150 minutes = 2.5 hours = 2 and a half rotations
1 rotation = the perimeter of the circle drawn by the tip of the hour hand = 2*pi*r = 2*(22/7)*8 = 50.28 cms
so 2.5 rotations = 50.28*2.5 = 125.7 cms

12 hrs -- 12*60 = 720 mins
720 mins --- 360degrees
150min -- 150*360/720 = 75 degrees
diameter of the arc is: (2)*(22/7)*8*(75/360) = 10.47 cm
