Public conveniences – restrooms - are crucial infrastructure necessary for the social well-being and practical
operation of a functioning city. The provision of public restrooms has implications for public and individual health,
transportation, crime prevention, urban design, economic and cultural development and social equity.
It's very clearly show the issues of the day are remarkable similar
to today, such as:
• Demand for, and provision of, public restrooms in suitable locations
• Standards of cleanliness
• Cost of maintenance and cleaning
• Cost of opening and closing public restrooms to minimise anti-social behaviour.
The provision of public restrooms is an important factor in delivering a ‘people friendly’ environment for both
residents and visitors. Generally, the community expects public restrooms to be provided in parks, sporting
grounds and other public spaces. There is also a perception that the level of safety and cleanliness of many
public restrooms is poor.
Cleaners acknowledges that part of a city’s positive image is clean, well-maintained public restrooms that are
accessible, safe and strategically located. However, this responsibility must be balanced against Cleaner’s
other financial responsibilities and the obligation to provide cost efficient services based on objective criteria
that take into account all relevant factors.

I always sit on the seat. It's MORE irritating that people don't sit on the seat & then pee all over it, which I have to wipe up. The only thing that touches the seat is the back of your legs. Your hands touch wayyyyy more gross things throughout the day. So unless you're going to wear gloves & a mask, why bother peeing all over a toilet that other people have to use? Just wash your hands when you're done.

I cover the toilet seat with tons of toilet paper just to make myself feel better. Then i don't even touch it. I just hover over it and pee. I never do anything other than pee in public restrooms. After I am finished, I kick the flusher with my foot and then take a piece of toilet paper and open the door. I then wash my hands and then use hand sanitizer and then grab a piece of paper towel to open the bathroom door. Quite the process I know but you can never be to careful!!

i do not touch a thing.. if i have to make contact with any surface i either wear a surgical glove (oh what i do they are on me all the time so no i'm not a neat freak) or have a cloth... i don't even wash.. why? because most sinks and devices still have to be touched afterwards.. and here you've gone and used anti bacterial cleansers then gotta touch a filthy surface again such as the spigot?
nah, the way i've been doing it for years has worked.. sometimes when it's real bad i don't even flush.. because of the splash factor... NO i don't defecate... if it's that bad i just run home... but i always try to ensure all the important duties are accomplished beforehand.. if not... i get way, way fussy.. sometimes i've seen such debauchery in sanitation..
i rather just go in my pants!
no kidding!

Um - I rarely hesitate to sit on the seat, even when I have to wipe it off first. Like, I'm not going to pick up some man-eating disease before I get home and can hit the shower...

I never go number 2 in public restrooms and when I have to pee its not a problem since I pee standing up.

Yes, I always use paper towels before dropping to my knees in the men's restroom.
