I'm worried about college?

The other day i had a horrible nightmare that every college i applied to laughed at me because i had a 3.6 GPA. and that's weighted. I;m hispanic and a senior.I will be taking honors calculus, IB english and history, spanish, and wind symphony band. the 3.6 GPA is weighted and I'm ranked 40 in my class :( I am drum major, I do swimming, I volunteer at varous places but nothing consistently. Honestly, what are my chances of getting into college? I really want to go somewhere in Boston or New York City, any suggestions?

P.s. I know this is the wrong sectoins but i feel a lot safer asking you guys

Well, it really depends on what your major is. I think your chances of getting into college are very good. You have a great GPA a lot of extracurricular activities. If you're looking for gay-friendly colleges, then I suggest Emerson, in Boston, or Eugene Lang, which is in NYC. I'd also recommend the www.collegeboard.com search engine. Good luck! I'm sure you'll get in.

Thank you for feeling comfortable confiding in us.

I can not imagine anyone turning down a 3.6 student with a good reputation. How many colleges did you apply to? Did you talk to your high school counselor about this? I am sure that he/she has run into many "good" students who were nervous as cats in a rocking chair shop. I wish you a great colege life. Be careful when you get there. Have fun. But concentrate on what's important to you. HUGS!

You are nervous and are having bad dreams.

Find something to do to relax.

Hm, it depends on what the admission requirements are for whatever school you are applying to and the program you want to take. I'm in Canada, and schools generally do not look at grades so much as they look at extracuricular activites and what you have been involved in with the community. And I have a GPA of 3.5 and was told that is considered a high average and acceptable to most schools. But again, Canada schools are a bit different.

Your GPA is very good and being involved in clubs is always a plus but to secure a spot in a college of your choice you'll need to do well on the SATs. Good Luck!

You qualify for most CSU Universities in Cali. Not really for SC or UCLA though.

I think your doing great though.
