My dog cries every time she goes near my other dog?

Tuesday my pitbull had surgery on her back paw from a fox tail gettin into her skin and traveling a little bit and she has a cast now, but everytime my rat terrier goes near her she starts whinning and crying does anyone know why? My older dog doesn't do anything he smelled her when she came home with the cast and that was it, it's only the rat terrier (she's also the youngest of the 3 if that matters she's 3 the pit is 4) she'll just walk up to her and cry, but they still play and run around together. My pitbull acts like nothing is wrong with her, so why does my terrier cry around her?

Update:

really don't know if it matters but the older dog is 8 the one that had surgery is 4 and the one that cries is 3 they all grew up together had all of them since puppies and she's never done this with her before

Your younger dog obviously knows something is not quite right. If the 3 and 4 year old are play mates then it may just be that when the 3 year old approaches the 4 year old, the 4 year old no longer gives the same body language that she wants to play. This could cause the 3 year old to cry because of the change in her friend, and knowing the her friend isn't herself. I would just give it time and I'm sure it will stop. Keep the pit bull a little more calm for the next little while, and give the terrier lots of exercise to help her settle down when she is in the house and with the pit bull.

    Good luck!

Determine the reason for the jealousy. Is it a new baby, a new pet or a new significant other? Determining the reason for your pet's jealousy will help you know how to handle it. In any case, give your pet plenty of time to adjust to the change.
