You could get the LG Neon at AT&T for close to free if you sign up for service.

For the hottest phone out there, I would go for a Nokia 6086 or the Samsung t409. But since you are a kid, and would want to be able to easily interact with other kids with what they do too, then I would suggest a platform that allows you to do unlimited text messaging and web browsing. For that I would suggest the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 (the Sidekick ID is a very watered down version of the Sidekick 3 and is lacking many of the Sidekick 3's features) or the Samsung BLAST. Both of these phones are extremely IM friendly.
