Would I be able to figure skate?
I would love start figure skating- be in competitions, have a coach, learn jumps and spins, etc. (I know I wouldn't be in the Olympics, so I'm not going to go there). The problems are:
1. My parents think I'm too old to begin now. (I'm 17)
2. In August I had my jaw replaced. It was a major surgery (10 hours) and my parents are afraid I'd hurt my jaw.
Please help.

yeah you should ask your doctor if you can skate with your jaw. there are tons of people who start skating around that age. at my old skating rink they had classes for adults, so yeah, that's not a problem. i just quit skating in august, but when i skated, there was a time when i had a sprained wrist and the doctor said i shouldn't skate, but i really wanted to so he said i just wouldn't be able to do jumps until my wrist completely healed, so i could only do spins and footwork and such. so mainly just ask your doctor if it's ok
good luck :)
